Years ago I gave up my fight to thwart the ever clever food instincts of squirrels. Life is too short for a fruitless struggle and one the squirrels continually won. Now everyone lives and eats in harmony.
A morning dove suns itself in my maple tree.
Regardless of the above, it is my 16-year old West highland white terrier who gives me the most joy when he is sunning himself in the backyard.
