The birds were soaring overhead, watching me diligently filling the various feeders.
The different species call out to each other that breakfast has been served.
Many of my feathered friends sit on tree branches patiently waiting for me to finish setting up the morning buffet.
Of course, it never takes the squirrels long to scurry, hop, skip and jump across the field at lightning speed in an effort to fuel their little bodies.
The restaurant in the backyard is now open and all my little friends are enjoying another scrumptious meal. I can’t imagine not having the wildlife around me on a daily basis. For you see, they quite simply, fill my heart.

I haven’t seen a Blue jay at my feeders for a while now but I know they’re around since I hear them calling. The squirrels on the other hand I can live without.

I must have 20 bluejays that visit me several times throughout the day. I also have many cardinals. The squirrels I finally gave up fighting with, especially after they kept breaking one squirrel-proof feeder after another. I waved the white flag and the rest is history. π
